Rear mount R380 Defender universal air box
This airbox simply fits in the rear gap between the bulkhead and engine for a very tidy install of an enclosed air feed system. It has full adaptation in any horizontal orientation and a funnel shaped top to aid air flow.
Please appreciate this has been designed around the 300tdi bell housing some small tabs may need altering to suit the Td5
Main air box is made completely from aluminium with 3mm steel lower mount plate, and Perspex inspection top. Supplied with cone air filter, 3 rubber bush’s to locate in which direction you choose and all stainless bolts.
Perfect for anyone doing an engine conversion, ideal for rhd/lhd snorkel configuration with its complete adaptability. It’s also a nice upgrade to a stock 300tdi or Td5 with the alternative lower mount bracket.
Simply loosen the bellhousing bolts and slide the lower bracket into place then tighten back up, then the main box simply drops into the rubber bobbins and needs one bolt to fasten up. The main airbox body can be pointed in either direction as can the lid meaning inlet and outlet can be figured as you please.Typically we have 3” pipes but any size can be requested with an additional charge, we have managed to fit 4” pipes but they are tight, we also have a twin entry option coming soon. Finished off with a Perspex centre infill for easy inspection.
